“The simplicity and elegance of design that she has achieved reveals the ease that comes with maturity: her restrained minimalism and precise mark-making eliminate the unnecessary in order to reveal the most important nuances of her expression.”
—Christina Cotter, Arts ATL
In this exhibition of drawings using graphite, paints, and collage on kozo and paper pulp painted on abaca, I recorded parts of the natural world and objects in my immediate surroundings, condensing them into notes, suggestions, memories. The pulp was applied on the paper to create organic forms—kudzu, leaves, a flower—and shaped into shards that easily fit in my hand.
